A preview
A preview is a private copy of a site at a fixed address, made by your AI after each change. You look at it, share it, comment on it. Search engines never list a preview.
A preview is a safe place to try: it has its own database with test data, test users and test payments. Nothing a real visitor did is touched.
The site's link to share always shows the latest preview, at the same address: the one to give colleagues.
Putting online
Putting a preview online makes it what visitors see. In the site's Site tab, a new version waiting shows with its button.
Who does it is a setting of each site (Settings, Who puts changes online, chosen by owners and admins):
- A person puts changes online (the default): your AI prepares a preview of each change; someone in the organisation tries it, then puts it online.
- The AI puts changes online: as soon as a change is ready, without waiting for anyone.
Going back
Every version stays. In the Site tab, put an earlier one online again: the site goes back as it was. Your AI can also undo a change in the code; the history keeps both.
Texts after putting online
Texts and images changed in the dashboard reach the online site when you publish them and click Update the site. Leaf never rebuilds a site on its own.
Addresses
- Every site answers on its Leaf address,
name--organisation.leafpages.dev, free on every plan. Search engines never list it there. - To be found on Google, a site needs a domain of its own (Personal and Company licences): add it in the site's Settings, Domains, then set the records Leaf shows at your domain's provider.
A site paused or archived answers a paused page until it is resumed.
