What your AI does on Leaf

Your AI acts as you, with your role. It builds and checks previews; people decide what goes online.

It acts as you

Once connected, your AI works on Leaf on your behalf, in every organisation you belong to, with your role in each. It reaches the sites you reach, and nothing else. If you leave an organisation, your AI loses access there at once. Changes it makes show in the site's history as yours, made through your AI.

What it does

  • Creates sites from a starting point and writes their code. Every change is a version in the site's history, with a message in your language, and can be undone.
  • Makes previews and looks at them: screenshots in a real browser, pages as search engines read them.
  • Sets up what your team edits (texts, images, lists), forms, languages and translations.
  • Uses what Leaf provides: a database, sign-in for the site's users, payments, scheduled tasks, emails, AI inside the app.
  • Reads the notes your team left on pages, fixes them and answers each one.
  • Reads what visitors sent through a form, to check it works or to help you with it.

What it does not do

  • Put a site online, unless that site lets the AI do it (off by default, see Previews and putting online).
  • See secrets: an API key is typed by a person in the dashboard. The code only names it, and nothing reads the value back.
  • Touch real visitors' data: its database tools work on the preview's database, never the online one.
  • Pay, change your plan, invite people or delete anything at the organisation's level: that stays in the dashboard.
  • Read your conversations: Leaf only sees what your AI sends to its tools.

Every change is safe

  • A change applies whole or not at all: nothing is left half done.
  • If someone changed the same thing since your AI read it, the change is refused instead of overwriting their work; your AI reads again and retries.
  • A change that would go past a limit writes nothing and says why.

Examples

Tell your AI

With Leaf, make a careers page for our company with our three open jobs. Applications with a CV come to me by email.

Your AI creates a site from the careers starting point, adds the jobs as entries HR can edit in the dashboard, sets up the application form, makes a preview, looks at it, and gives you the link.

Tell your AI

With Leaf, handle the notes on my site.

Your AI reads the open notes, changes the site, makes a new preview, and answers each note with what it did. You check the fixes on the page.

Tell your AI

With Leaf, how much did my sites cost this month?

Your AI reads this month's usage, item by item, and answers. It changes nothing.

When a Leaf tool gets in its way

If a tool's description misleads it or a refusal surprises it, your AI may send the Leaf team a short report: the need in general terms, the problem, what would have helped. It is told never to include your words, names, data or secrets, and to tell you it sent one. These reports are how Leaf's tools get better.
